My summer reading
In my era of pregnancy, nursing and babies it seems my reading habits are continually changing.
But here I find myself, once more, in a phase of nursing a little baby, which gives ample time to read as I spend time on the couch! (A better choice than the ceaseless scroll!)
I have a summer line up ready and wanted to share my choices here with you.
These are not books I’ve finished (I have yet to begin most of them!) so I will most certainly share thoughts on the other side of summer for whatever you find it worth!
My Summer Reading:
Rooted in Wonder - If you have not yet been introduced to the lovely Eryn Lynum then you are most certainly missing out! Her podcast is one of the gems I have discovered in my homeschooling journey. My boys beg to listen to more and we absolutely love being a part of her club to gain access to the beautiful resources she provides with each episode - worth the small fee! I am excited to dive into this book and learn more from this sweet lady!
Habits of the Household - This is one that I’ve wanted to read for years and has come highly recommended by many friends! I’m currently a part of a beautiful moms group that is going through it together. We’ve just covered the intro and I’m already intrigued and feeling like it will be a good fit for our current season of life here. More thoughts to come!
The Opt-Out Family - Erin Loechner has long been a favorite author of mine. Her way with words and perspective on life have kept me pulling out my copy of Chasing Slow (her first book) countless times for inspiration. I will admit, it is with a bit of trepidation that I will open the cover of her next book, as I’m daily caught in my own inner struggle with the role technology play in our world - in MY world. So I come with open ears and a posture of learning, hoping to gain greater clarity on what God would have me do in this digital age. Will certainly share thoughts and my own conclusions when I reach the end of this one!
Pilgrim - This beautiful book sits on my bed and I have no doubt it will be a ready word of encouragement for the long days of motherhood. Ruth Simons has long been a voice of hopeful wisdom over the years and I’ve been struck by her first two books as they’ve helped me position my heart to worship in the everyday mundane. I have no doubt that this book will do the same and am eager to sit with her words and her beautiful artwork.
Now tell me, my friend - what are YOU reading this summer? Leave it in the comments, as I’m always adding to my ever-growing list!
